This page contains links to all sites, tools and services related to cryptocoins. I will update this page as much as I can as more sites come out.
I will also add my own personal experiences with each listing.
If your site should be figured amongst my list, then please contact me.
Forums
Bitcointalk.org – As far as I know, this is one of the biggest forums related to cryptocurrencies. Membership is free, but it takes some time before you can post outside of the newbie section. There is a ton of helpful information but beware: There are many scammers in the marketplace (as long as legitemate traders). Due diligence is required.
Currency Exchanges
Mtgox.com – I haven’t had the chance to use them yet, but from what I hear, they are amongst the most trusted. Can be used for USD to cryptocoin transfers.
Btc-e.com – Another big player in the currency exchange game. You can deposit USD and exchange for any of the cryptocurrencies listed on the site.
Coinedup.com – I have used them in the past and they seem fairly reliable. However the site crashes a lot and transfers can take quite some time to get through.
Cex.io – A site where you can exchange bitcoin for hashing power. I talk more about their services in this post. I highly recommend them.
Cryptocurrencies
- Bitcoins – The original cryptocurrency
- Dogecoins – This meme based cryptocoin is reason why I got interested in virtual currency
- Coinye West – The Kanye West based coin launching on January 9th.
- More to come
Asic Mining Rigs
Butterflylabs – This is a contreversial supplier. Their prices are high and I hear they don’t always deliver. Personnally I’ve never done business with them so I can’t confirm the heresay. However, simply due to so many bad reviews, I’d suggest you stay away.
Hashfast – After failing to deliver on their first batch on December 31st, I wouldn’t recommend buying from Hashfast. They currently have a lawsuit coming up against them.
GPU Mining Rigs
NewEgg – If you live in North America, NewEgg offers some of the most competitive prices and service for hardware. Build any rig by shopping at one site.
Amazon – A great alternative to NewEgg. Amazon is the world’s biggest online shopping site for a reason.
Ebay – A little riskier due to scammers, but most of ebay is reliable. You can get good discount deals on used or new cheap gpu mining equipment here.
